The Harney Mansion Heritage Day

The Frankin County Historical Society will have a booth set up at The Harney Mansion Heritage Day on September 14 from 10 am - 4 pm.

There will be many vendors at this event ranging from historical displays, to crafting vendors. Come on out and see us!

Monthly Meetings

Meetings are 3rd Sunday at 2pm at 209 E Main, Union MO, unless otherwise noted on our Facebook page. If you would like to check out a meeting and see about becoming a member, we invite you to attend.

March 6th Opens for 2024 Season

March 9th Open House for New Season

March 17 - Show and Tell

  • Bring something from home to share with everyone after the meeting

  • Could be anything from Franklin County or your family

April 21 - UFO (Unidentified Family Objects)

  • We all have some items, photos, etc. in our collections that we know nothing about

  • Bring your items or photos in for some help identifying them

May 19 - GAR history in Franklin County

  • Jen Rickards will give a small presentation on the history of the Grand Army of the Republic in Franklin County and in general

  • If you have information about the GAR in Franklin County, contact Jen Rickards at auntiejen82@yahoo.com

June 9 - Elections

  • It's Election time! There will be a display/presentation about elections and politicians in Franklin County

July 21 - Stories from the Ville

  • Bring your stories from the Ville to share at our next meeting. Towns include Robertsville, Villa Ridge, etc.

  • President Lynn Wagner will have some special stories of her own.

August 18 - Letters & Diaries

  • Jen Rickards will talk about Letters & Diaries, their historical importance, and if they can be trusted

  • On display will be some letters from her collection along with letters from the Historical Society

September 15 - Old Schools

October 20 - Haunted History

Genealogy Class 201: The Next Step in Research

You asked, and we are delivering! The next step in Genealogy Research: Genealogy Class 201
So you've done the basics. You've started a tree, added the information, and traced back a few generations. Now what? Now it's time to get down to the nitty-gritty of the Research. That's what this class is for. Join us on June 8 from 4-6pm at 300 E Locust St in Union as President Lynn Wagner and Board Member Jen Rickards from Auntie Jen's Family Trees show you what to do next in your tree and how to do it. Reserve your seats now, space is limited.

 

Can't attend? No problem!

The class will be filmed and made available after the fact for the same price. All printouts are included as well. Watch from the comfort of your own home.
